Jodhpur a beautiful blue city
A bright and charming Sun City ‘Jodhpur’ is a popular tourist destination featuring many attractive places and magnificent forts. The city is unique with blue colored houses that have transformed the look of the whole city. There is no true reason for the blue painting of the houses but the very few believe that it was all because of Brahmin Caste. With beautiful blue houses there are many sightseeing places in Jodhpur that simply can grab any tourist’s attention. Such few attractions are:
The Mehrangarh Fort:
The fort is a must visit Jodhpur Tourist place and one of the largest forts built around 1460. It stands 400 feet above the city and has the magnificent architecture representing various periods.
Umaid Bhavan Palace:
The palace is a perfect example of the Indian and European style of architecture. One part of the palace is hotel and the other part of the palace is a museum.
It lies close to the Mehrangarh Fort built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh in the year 1899. Inside the fort, there are many portraits of the Rathore rulers.
The garden is located in the Mandore town which was once the capital of Marwar king. The garden has the high rock hill terrace and has the cenotaphs of former rulers of Jodhpur.
The lake was constructed in the year 1872 by Pratap Singh. People usually visit this lake to watch the migratory birds. The view of the sunset from this lake is simply breathtaking.
There are much more places; like Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, Chamunda Mata Temple, Clock Tower, Balsamand Lake, and Masuria Hills Garden. All those grandeurs of Jodhpur attract a large number of tourists from all over the world.
